Colts’ Jonathan Taylor To Be Back With Team Yet Wants To Be Traded

Jonathan Taylor, a running back with the Indianapolis Colts, allegedly joined the team again on Monday but is still on the active/PUP list, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Taylor underwent surgery on his ankle in January, and he has been away from the squad for almost a week while he continues his rehabilitation. Since the offseason operation, the star running back has not been on the practice field.

Taylor would probably rejoin the squad the following week, according to coach Shane Steichen, who was quoted by USA Today’s Kevin Hickey:

“He should be back, yeah, next week.”

Jonathan Taylor, who underwent arthroscopic debridement in January, is currently on the PUP list as he recovers. The star of the Indianapolis Colts must decide if he will participate in team practices when he rejoins the squad.

“I don’t have an answer for that and a timetable on that,” Steichen said. “But really looking forward to getting him back and getting him healthy and getting him back out there playing with the guys.”

Taylor has been listed as physically unable to perform (PUP) since he attended the training camp at the end of July, and his name can presently be seen there.

Taylor is in the fourth year of a rookie deal worth $7.8 million that spans four years and was signed when he was a rookie. Taylor is a notable athlete who was named an All-Pro in 2021.

Taylor requested a trade from the team last month after speaking with owner Jim Irsay. However, the group has stated that dealing the All-Pro running back is not in their plans.

Jonathan Taylor started 11 games the previous year and rushed for 861 yards and four touchdowns. After leading the NFL in running yards (1,811) and touchdowns (18) in the previous season, the Pro Bowler did this.
